What am I willing to settle for as having achieved one year from now?
I am a competitive ballroom dancer, and within the next year I am willing to work hard and achieve outstanding results in the next 4 to 5 competitions planned. On top of this physically straining goal, I will strive to manage my time and be on top of my school work as well as learn something new every day as I productively finish my tasks. I wish to grow my teaching business in the dance community and to be recognized for my hard work and capable teaching skills. I am also determined to have passed my drivers test and be driving independently by the end of this year.
What am I willing to settle for as having achieved on my 18th birthday?
Once I reach the age of eighteen I will be one of the top dancers of my class and age group. I am willing to put time and fully establish my teaching business and to be known for having my students be the best dancers. I will be in full control of my life, time and health by the age of eighteen.
What am I willing to settle for as having achieved at age 25?
By the age of twenty five, I will be the best dancer in this community, maybe even start doing shows and performances for live television. I am willing to achieve financial stability by this age and begin to save and find new ways of making capitol. By my mid twenties I will be educated and have graduated college, I am not quite sure in what field, but I will achieve a higher education.
“Do more than you need, you can always do less later”, a dance instructor of mine from Moscow, Russia once said. This is what “going the extra mile” means. To attain one’s goals, no matter if it is a habit one is trying to build or destroy, or if it is one’s calling and passion, going the extra mile always guarantees success. In my case, by going the extra mile, means to stay in the studio for one extra hour, to ask one extra question, or maybe even think about my art for one extra minute. By putting in extra effort into my goals, I could be managing my time in professional and efficient way sooner than expected. In the end, not only does the going the extra mile method guarantee my goals, it secures the success of every student’s and person’s goals.
