Significance of the carolingian renaissance

The Carolingian renaissance was a great revival of art, culture, and was an age of discovery. There were a total of 3 more renaissances within history which greatly impacted our modern world in fields such as science, engineering, and, the big industries and factories. Despite the clear distinction of productivity and accomplishments between these historical time frames, students still acknowledge and study the Carolingian renaissance. What is so significant about this revival of ancient culture? The Carolingians were the leading family of the Franks from the late 7th century till early -11 century. The emperor Charlamenge who initiated the Carolingian renaissance had a vision, a vision to bring back the teachings and wisdom of the ancient greeks, to preserve their legendary fables, poems and philosophical teachings. Why was it significant? This renaissance marked the last great effort to revive classical culture before the Late Middle Ages (khanacademy.org). In the end, the Carolingian renaissance was an effort made successfull from the Frank’s to preserve the ancient teachings and apply them to their own society.
