Aristotle’s Ethics

What are the key points of Aristotle’s Ethics? Aristotelian ethics showcases that pure happiness is the final goal of a human being. By pure happiness, Aristotle means eudaemonia, which is fulfillment and how one is supposed to live. What is a good way for a human to live? Aristotle brings up an example saying that a good knife is only good when it cuts well. That is defined by its sharpness; sharpness being the main characteristic of the knife. Taking this information into account Aristotle concludes that the main characteristic of a human is reason. With the human-only trait of reason, everyone must think about the best way to live which to Aristotle is being virtuous. In the end, Aristotle’s Ethics shows that being a good person and spreading virtue is the good life for a human being.
