Hector, such as Achilles was the hero of Mycenaean Greece, was the hero of Troy. In The Iliad, by Homer, Hector is fighting in the war and is told to leave the battlefield and deliver a message to the wives to pray to the gods for help. With the dialogue that takes place during his conversation with his mother, “And Hector answered, “Honored mother, bring no wine, lest you unman me and I forget my strength. I dare not make a drink-offering to Jove with unwashed hands; one who is bespattered with blood and filth may not pray to the son of Saturn…”, This shows that he is a very comforting person, and respectful, for he refuses to pray after countless hours of bloodshed. In the end, the Trojan Hero hector has great integrity and cares for the people of Troy.
